Its been a strange day. I went to a funeral for somebody that I didn't know that well but its seems to have had a much bigger affect on me than I would have thought. I've been trying to work out why.

She was only young, 26 in fact, somebody I knew socially, not that well as I have said, but she was always around in the pubs that I go to. I suppose the suddeness of it and her age has much to do with it. I probably wouldn't have gone unless a friend had asked me to go. I said I would.

She knew a lot of people or was known by a lot of people, there had to be at least 100 people there today, and I would imagine many knew her in the way that I did, socially. The ceremony was probably the most fitting I have ever been too, and this being a funeral, not something that you attend that often, well I would hope that you don't anyway.

I thought that as I didn't know her that well that I would come away from it, I suppose almost detached, but I must admit that I have felt very subdued this afternoon and this evening. It just has made me think about life and the fact that you need to try and make the most of the time you have. And I don't mean going off and travelling the world, but just doing what makes you happy. Spend the time with the ones you love, or not love, but just like being around and just live it how you want.

Its funny, as I drove to work, I heard 'What a Feeling' on the radio by Irene Cara. It just fitted today, it would have been exactly what she would have liked. Just felt right...

 Comments

Kylie at Wembley

This it the first time that I have managed to get on to a computer in nearly 2 weeks now, so my first chance to mention Kylie at Wembley last Saturday.

Well what can I say, an emotional ride for all concerned including the lady herself I believe. But she didn't disappoint at all, I can tell you.

She sang for 2 hours with only a 20 minute break and it rocked from start to finish. The first 5 mins she just stood there and took in the atmosphere as the crowd just cheered. For one who was at her last concert she did before she was diagnosed with cancer, it was great to see back and peformng again. And I sang along like a big kid all the way through. The one downside was that we weren't allowed to take photos, but I did anyway, just a few sneaky ones. But that didn't dampen the evening.

If you got the chance of seeing her live, I'm sure that you will agree that despite what she has been through lately, she can still put on a show.

More to follow soon when I get the laptop working again.

Took this little snap last weekend overlooking the 2 piers in Bournemouth. Isn't mother nature amazing...

Who the ecky thump is the bloke at the end tho!!!

Well unless you've been handcuffed to a radiator for the last few weeks then, err that would be a major affirmative.

I've just been to Tesco (and before anyone comments, I have no life, so I do these things of a Friday evening) and somebody has Chrimbo decs up ALREADY!!! I found myself shouting through the car window that it was November for gawds sake. And it is, isn't it? Or have I just slept through the whole month and in fact its now December something or other.

I can't even think about decorations yet, its way too early. I mean we haven't even had Fireworks yet. Well we have, they've been banging all night tonight, but I mean its only 3rd November, still 2 days till Guy Fawkes gets to blow up the Houses of Parliament (if only).

And then, we still have other things too. The new James Bond movie with sexy Daniel Craig and lots of other things, that have escaped me at the moment. Oh I know my brother's 40th birthday, yes thats to come. Christmas DOs, and well other things.

But my point here, and believe me there is one, I'm just making a hash of coming to it, is that it IS WAY TOO EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS YET.

Enough said...for now...

 Comments

Show your support...

But I'll still pass the jar on the way to bed I'm sure!!! I think I might just eat the rest and then they are all gone. Well they will be, it'll just mean I'll have to start on the Cadbury mishapes. All those sweets seemed a good idea when I bought them. I mean you see a Cadbury shop at one of these outlet shopping places and well you have to buy something. And besides it took me 2 hours to get there (it was the Clarks Village in Street in Somerset. Near Glastonbury if you need a reference point) and I got lost twice. So I couldn't go home without buying something. And makes up for the whole 45 minutes I spent there.

I digress, again. So chocolate galore. Weeks of rubbish and no proper meals. Oh well...

Oh and one last thing, stopped off at Cerne Abbas and saw the giant with the big cock. So that made my day!!! I'll post a pic when I get round to uploading them..

As nothing happened after that. Oh well, NEXT...

There is something to be said about local radio. Not sure what it is, but there is something. No, but seriously, my local radio station does a good round of what they cool 'school days' of a Friday night. So if you are one of those hermit kind of people, like me at the moment, then its just a nice way to spend an evening. 80s tunes on the radio, a nice packet of revels and I'm set up for the weekend. I've even been known to sing along and dance around the lounge.

A bit of Rick Astley and Samantha Fox. And what is even better is when you can actually remember the words, despite not even liking the song when it was out originally. But there is something about hearing the songs after all this time. Takes me back to my teens. Life was care free.

You remember them, days before relationships, before the mortgage and bills. Long before I had to pay my own council tax, my own leccy bill, HUGE gas bills, washing your own clothes and cooking your own dinner. (Hoorah for Mums.)

Well I'll drift off to some Duran Duran now and let you good folks get back to your interesting life. Although if you are on Blog land like me, perhaps you are listening to your own local station too. Welcome back to the 80s...

 Comments

Deal or No Deal...

I said no more posts tonight, but you know, once you get started, its like the runaway train, it just doesn't stop until you crash or Steve McQueen lands on the roof and miraculously saves the day. But seeing as Steve McGQueen has been dead a good few years, I don't think that will happen. And I can't see one of the model looking film stars these days doing anything as 'tough' as that. So I will carry on...

What was the subject...

Oh yes. I have a confession and I wil stand for this. My name is cjbobdog and I am a Deal or No Deal addict. There I have said it. I am so ashamed, how can I look anyone in the face again. Sobs uncontrollably.

Actually, wind back a few sentences. Ashamed, well no I'm not, its actually great entertainment and how much can you get into it. AND I'm not the only one, I know of at least 2 other people that like it and also that person that won 10 grand ringing in today. Oh and one of the people was a teacher, and they are supposed to be very sensible.

Noel Edmonds is a tad annoying sometimes and I am convinced that he jinxes the boxes, but its Noel isn't it. Swap Shop, House Party (we'll excuse him Mr Blobby) and he also told the BBC to go stick their contract where the old sun doesn't shine. Thats worth something in my book. Now if I could just close the Daily Mail down, that would be my work done. But I'll save that for another day. I digress...

So there you go, I like Deal or No Deal. Keeps me off the streets...for now...

I'd better go to bed. It's getting chilly and I can't be arsed to switch the boiler back on. Besides the prices British Gas charge these days, I cant afford to switch it back on.

Oh buggery, shit (can I say that on here?). This one was a friend but I was hoping it would be more. Sexy, handsome, sweet and a killer smile. Oh good one, you f'd it up again...

 Comments

Oops, I did it again...

I've managed to do it again, offend a friend. Do you ever get those times when, whatever you say it either seems to come out the wrong way or somebody takes it the wrong way. Well I'm having one of those times right now. I have no idea why it keeps happening, but I'm kind of thinking I'll just keep my gob shut and say nothing. It might be easier than having to apologise for what I have just said. Perhaps more of the thinking it, but not actually saying it.

I'm not normally this kind of person, just lately I seem to become more outspoken about things. I'm doing it at work and so far I haven't actually got in trouble, but if I'm not careful it will happen, and god knows what the consequences will be. Is it a getting older thing? We tend to not care so much when we get older. Who knows...

Just have to put the old head into gear before the mouth gets going. Just for a while anyway, don't want it going the opposite way...

Anyway, back to Xanadu...

I was in Brighton today and parked in an NCP car park. I was there about 4 1/2 hours and the car park cost me £10.80. Well I can tell you I almost fell off my feet. Well I thought that was bad, the couple next to me paid over £14.00!!! I have no words for it. I don't think I have EVER paid that much for parking.

OMG. Turned out to to be a pricey day trip.

Other than that it was a great day. I'll tell you about it soon...

 Comments

Politics...whats its all about

I was just getting ready for the next thing on TV and up pops a party political broadcast. Its the Conservative party this time. Mr David Cameron chatting away and actually praised the Labour Party for things they had done. Well I almost fell off my feet.

But it got me thinking, what is policitics all about. Can anyone explain it to me. I feel like that woman on that programme the other night, you know the one with Jane Horrocks. Let me tell you about it if you had something better to do. She was a supermarket manager and ended up becoming the Prime Minister. All in an hour. But she had no idea what politics was about, and thats exactly how I feel. I mean the Torys have been in Bournemouth this week, I live there and had no idea they were coming!!! Perhaps I need to read the paper more, or watch the news. Perhaps its better to be oblivious to it. Perhaps there is no right answer...

 Comments

The Internet...your own little part

I was having a think about these new sites that have sprung up allowing you to have your only little bit of cyber space. Myspace is a very popular one so I hear and another one is Univillage. Just for those studenty types that we all hear about but don't see much of. I'm not going to berate them in any way as I was a student for a short while, but now I'm old its very hard to tolerate them. Anyway I digress.

So I thought that I would take a gander at some of these and I did last night. Well lets just say it was an eye opener what and especially who was on there. I found all sorts of people and was amazed at how many celebs and so called celebs had myspace spaces (is that the way to describe them?). I found people I knew and many I didn't, but I really started to think how things have changed.

I mean a while ago if you wanted your own little bit of cyber space then you either had to be a whizz at websites, or a friend who had a book (thanks Curiosityness) or made do with a MSN ot Yahoo profile, or a Gaydar profile (in my case). But that was it.

But lo and behold, everyone can now have this and make then as elaborate or simple as they like. Isn't technology great!!! How things have moved on and I don't know about anyone else but even the time I have had access to the Internet, about 6 years now, things have changed so much. Well look we have Broadband now, and only £14.99 from Tiscali. I should say so...

But you couldn't get that even a few year s ago. Broadband was for the richer out of us and was costing £25 upwards. Now its very cheap. So technology moves on. And you don't even need wires anymore, or even be at home, you can connect on a train or even in the loo if they have Wifi, fantastic. I can have a dump and chat to my friends all at the same time, isn't life wonderful.

What will be next? I mean I sit here and type this blog out, not very well I have to add, I do have fingers that are most definitely not connected to my brain at the moment and write what they like, but another 6 years from now, will I be typing this, or just talking out loud. What about a further 6 years again, will I even have to talk, or will a computer be able to read my thoughts and put those down on the blog. Who knows...

And what will become of the humble little blog. Well we didn't have them a few year back and now, look everyone has one, even me. What will be next. Full scale websites for all, and only for a few clicks of the mouse. Myspace and Univillage will go global, even Universal. Could be an exciting time, or it could all implode in a big puff of smoke.

Say one thing, catch me in 12 years time and I will give you the answer to that...

 Comments

...kinda weird...

...thing to say, but is June Sarpong anerexic (is that how you spell it?). She has gone from quite plump girlie with big lips and big cheeks, to, well lets just say unrecognisable. Theres hardly anything left of her, in fact she turned sideways and she disappeared altogether...

Just seen her on some fashion/pop thing on C4 and well shes gone all thin. And then comes on Kim Cattrall and shes all, well lets say not thin!!!

Oh and if you have no idea who June Sarpong is, well then you are way too old to be reading blogs, get back to Jane Eyre or War and Peace...

Remember, no comments unless you are a friend, it allows me to stay reasonably polite on here.

Have I been busy living this life thing that I talk about. Well yes and no. I mean a Blog was a good idea, but it then gets boring and you think, if I write too often, then it will just be day to day life and, I do aplogise for saying this, but who wants to hear about your trip to the shops to buy milk. Well that is unless Daniel Craig or Esther Rantzen were in the queue in front of you. And how often does that happen? Count them, err, one, two, never!!! Yet...Daniel if you are reading this, pop to Tesco and you will see me there...

So anyway I thought it was time to post a little message in here and well this is it. Its not exciting and its not that interesting, but its something, damn sight more than I have done since July, or was it April. who knows. Who cares!!! Answers on a postcard, as I don't want comments unless from friends.

Why? Well I have decided that these Blogs are about my thoughts and I don't actually want to hear from others unless they are friends. Have had comments which, well lets just say I objected to and I'm not about to get anymore. If you want to put comments up, write your own Blog!!! Restricting free speech, not at all, just I don't give a f@#k what others have to say, unless I know them. And they are friends for a reason. Certainly don't want to hear from a complete stranger... Please respect this as comments will be deleted.

Blimey, that was a bit of a rant, oh well, better out than in as they say. Hmmmm, its got cold suddenly. I'd better get the boiler fitted then before I get really cold!!!

 Comments

Wackiness personified

Now I thought that the adverts from Pizza Hut were bizarre these days, see below previous blogs, but there is now something that tops these. Well in fact it tops them with more sprinkles, smarties and even flake.

Its Green Wing. I mean what the hell are the writers of that programme on. Fairy dust I would say or they have a very big supply of magic mushrooms. But even though they are very bizarre, they are so funny.

It was tonight when the woman put a banana in her bosses bosum whilst she was bent over talking to her. Thats just hilarious. And it goes on for an hour too.

I think the writers must just delve deep down into the depths of their minds, grab the most weird and wacky idea and drag them kicking and screaming into the world. Either that or we've been invaded, once again, by creatures from outer space.

Whatever it is, it makes for good Friday night TV for those of us who, and lets be blunt here, have no life. Well actually I do have one, I'm just being one of them creatures, men who are unwell. Need I say anymore.

Another goody from Channel 4 me thinks.

 Comments

When is a blog not a blog?

When its a sarcastic comment...

Enough said tonight.

But now, this fine Friday evening watching David Attenborough and Jonathan Ross on TV, I am going to seriously go off on one.

Why you ask? Speed cameras, thats what. What are they for? Do they reduce accidents in so called blackspots. Well I've been doing some research this evening and actually using this Internet thing for something other than chatting and online gambling.

Statistics prove that they don't. Accidents still go up each year and so do the number of speed cameras and the number of motorists that get fined for doing, well not a f*g lot if we are being honest about it, is going up dramatically each year.

Now I know there are some maniacs out there who excessively speed and all the time as well. Well those people need to get caught, but are there any police around, thats a big fat NO.

So why oh why do the general public who 99% of the time are law abiding get screwed by a local Police Force and Council who, and lets be honest here, are only out to make some extra cash. It then takes me onto ask, where does the money raised by fines actually go. Well lets just say that the Chief Constable has a very nice house and enjoys his holidays with the wife. Now I'm not saying that he pockets the cash, but it makes you wonder doesn't it.

Now you are probably wondering why I am attacking the police here over speed cameras. Well after a pretty crap day at work, well actually the whole week, I return home to find a nice, polite letter form Dorset Police to say that I am being fined for doing 58 miles per hour in a 50 speed limit.

Let me tell you about the place that the mobile camera was sighted. Its on a dual carriageway, on the downward slope from a flyover. A Monday afternoon, in fact it was at 12:02 and let me say, I would describe as a quiet day on the roads.

8 miles over the speed limit!!! I don'know whether I was speeding, I don't have a recorder in my car that would tell me so I am at the mercy of the cops, and well gonna get points on my licence and a fine. Well that will mean cheaper presents for my nephew's birthday next month.

For anyone who has received a speeding ticket, well you will see that they are extremely threatening and basically tell you that you have no choice. And believe me that the threat of a court appearance, well scares anyone and there is no way that you can query it as they won't provide eveidence or enter into any correspondence.

Ok so you are guilty, thats it, no argument. I feel a campaign coming on. Watch this space boys and girls...

Oh one last thing, just so you know who isued these tickets, its the Chief Constable of the Dorset Police Force and the letter came from the Head of the Fixed Penalties Office. The campaign starts there I think.

All of the above are my opinions, you make up your own mind. Take care fellow bloggers, and join the campaign to get rid of speed cameras and actually make our roads safe.

 Comments

Night out...

Picture the scene, a load of men and women squashed on a, welnot so big dance floor. Add some Sugababes, a sprinkling of Madonna and that annoying Baywatch song, and you have a Saturday night in Bournemouth. Let me put this into context. The majority of the men are gay and a fair few of the women are lesbos although there are some hen party types out too.

Add that all together and you get what? Some seriously bad dancing thats what!!! Well ok thats a bit harsh, lets just say different kinds of dancing. It varies from those that stand on the edge, just swaying back and forth (that would be me as I'm watching them) to those that look like they are having some sort of fit.

But it all makes it very interesting to watch. And certainly brings a smile to my face as I am. Over to one side you have the pretty people, on the dance floor standing round in a circle, but really not moving that much. They don't have to, they look good. Although I do have this urge to throw a handbag amongst them. And then there are the not so pretty people, they do have to dance, it makes them interesting otherwise who would notice them. Hey I know that sounds bitchy, but I was in the right place for that.

But its great to watch.

So you are probably wondering why I wasn't amongst them shaking my stuff to that Leo Sayer remix thingy. Well its not a very big dance floor and I will end up knocking someone out if I'm not careful. I mean I'm not a bad dancer, have been told quite good in fact, but I like room. And after elbowing some girl in the chest once, I make sure that I have the room. Besides how can I watch if I'm too busy dancing.

Perhaps next time. There will probably be a new remix of an old classic, something by Barbara Streisand or Dolly Parton, but we'll love it and I'll end up joining those squashed onto that dancefloor.

 Comments

What a carry on...

I'm sure not the only one who enjoys a good laugh from time to time. Yes, you all shout. So what makes you laugh and what can you rely on to bring a smile to your face.

Well for me its a Carry On movie. And thats just what I'm watching as I'm writing this post. Its Carry on at your Convenience tonight. I mean, love them or hate them, they are certainly a British institution. Inuendos galore and despite most of them being certifcate PG, can be damn rude in places.

But thats there charm, well in my opinion anyway. All you need is a Sid James laugh, or just a flared nostril from Ken Williams, that does it for me.

You can't beat them, Sid James, Ken Williams, Joan Sims and Charles Hawtrey. The main stays of the films and kept things going for 29 decent movies. There are actually 30 in total, but number 30, Carry on Columbus, well lets just say it was a Carry On in name only. It didn't live up to the class of the others.

And what a variety there is, you go from a film about toilets (like tonight's), through, period carry ons, onto medical and one in the jungle of all places.

And if like me you have grown up with them, then you'll always like them. Late nights at Christmas or the odd Friday night, you'll find a Carry On to relax to after a hectic night out or too much turkey.

So what would be your favourite, Carry on Doctor, Abroad, Don't Lose Your Head, Emmanuelle. Hmmmm, perhaps not, not the best one they made.

For me its got to be Cruising. And no coments from anyone that knows me well. Abroad, At Your Convenience. I always go back to those, despite having seen them many times before.

I always will go back to them time after time, and they'll never get boring. Sad, I know, but always fun...

I'm talking about the Brits. Do you think its a load of pants or shows some homegrown talent?

My view changes every year. Its gotten better as the years have gone on. Well remember Samantha Fox and Mick Fleetwood. What did happen to him? I know, anyone actually care!!!

Anyway, this year I say talent. It did show that we really do have some great bands and solo artists in this country right now. I've just watched Paul Weller doing a medley thing and he is just fantastic. I was going to say awesome there, but I'm no yank. And finishing it off with 'Town called Malice'. Well lets just say I think I have just woken up the neighbours by dancing around the living room.

So as well as him they had KT Tunstall, The Gorillaz, Madonna, James Blunt(!) and Prince. Yes the small one with the stupid name is back.

But the highlight has got to be the one, the only, The Kaiser Chiefs. Now thats what I call talent. What a great perfomrance of 'I predict a riot'. And Ricky Wilson, well hes off his rocker. I kid you not, hes completely bananas. Cross between Jarvis Cocker (much more talent though) and Paul Weller. And dare I say it, very sexy too.

But great. And that goes for the show. I think love it or hate it, the Brits is always entertaining in one way or another. Rule Britannia...

What were they on when they wrote those!!!

If you haven't I will describe, just think of the most bizarre and whackiest advert. Ok you have that image, now thats about right.

'If you have 2 cheesy fingers each, how many does a meercat (not sure if you spell it that way) have?'

And

'How many weekends would you find in a submarine?'

I'm not making these up. They are true. See, told you, bizarre.

My spiritual home I call it. Its funny as I used to hate Brighton as I always thought of it as a rival to Bournemouth, but since I went there I love the place. And I can honestly say that its the only other place that I would live.

Think it must be the sea thing. I couldn't live anywhere that wasn't by the sea. Its just great being able to wander along it in the summer, well and winter come to think of it.

But Brighton does have so much more than just a beach. It just feels so relaxed, wandering along the front, exploring the lanes and going on the pier. Yes I did go on the pier. I like doing the touristy thing.

And added to this, the pride event in August, well what can I say, never seen so many people in one place.

But it was a great day...will be going back very soon.

 Comments

Tut, tut, haven't updated for a few days

Yes its true I haven't and have been very busy over the last few days, flitting here and there. Being sociable, well perhaps not so much, but still getting about a bit. And no comments from people I know about that comment.

Well a quick catch up. It was London for the day on Wednesday. Was great and did more than just shopping for a change. Did the cultural thing and went to 2, yes I said 2 galleries. The first being the Tate Modern. Well I have been there before so sort of knew what to expect. But what can I say about the Unilever Series in the Turbine Hall. Different would be a word I could use. But you have to give it a chance so I went down amongst the white cubes, and well I shouldn't say it, but I had this real urge to kick them. Let me describe if you haven't see it. Its basically a lot of white cubes stacked in different arrangements. Well in fact have a look at the pic.

Anyway I didn't, kick it that is. Although I did almost fall over one piece. Oops.

Anyway the rest of the gallery was ok in parts. Two stuck out for me. One by Bruce Nauman and the other by Gilbert and George. Bruce Nauman's was 7 projections of his studio at night. I know, sounds bizarre, but was very infectious. Had to go a second time to see that. And then Gilbert and George, they are just whacky to say the least.

Oh, but the best one in the whole place was the handrail. Yep, you read that correctly, a handrail. I was going to go over and and lean on it, then realised it was a piece of 'art'. Make your own mind up about that...

So the other gallery was the National. Talk about a contrast between that and the Tate Modern. So grand and classical. Not a lot really appealed to me in there other than seeing some Van Gogh, Monet and Manet. Having studied them at college it was great to see some work in the flesh, so to speak.

Anyway the rest of the day consisted of wandering around. Across the wabbly Millenium bridge. And whatever they say, it does still wabble. On to St Paul's and then down Fleet Street to Trafalgar Square. After that it was a bit of retail therapy. You can't beat a stroll down Oxford and Regent Street.

Then before I knew it I was heading back to Waterloo to get the train home. Although a quick stop off at the London Eye on the way. Will have to go on it it one of these days.

 Comments

Jake Gyllenhall...busy boy

Blimey hes been a busy boy that Jake Gyllenhall (is that how you spell it?).

Brokeback Mountain, Jarhead and now some thing with Gwyneth Cry Baby, daughter called Apple or Bananana or Tracey Fruit Paltrow.

Busy, busy, busy. All good in my book. Nice dreams tonight...
